Daily Routine

As a result of the pandemic, “Daily Routine” presents the components of my everyday life. With limited access to outer world, every outdoor activity was canceled. I realized my life was simplified into eating, sleeping, and painting. During this time, people were encouraged to face challenges, try to find peace and make themselves comfortable. My ways of coping with the change are painting and eating pastries. I set the background using my paintings that reflect the time we were living in, which possess a blue and chaotic feature. The objects reveal what I do and represent myself as people trying to adapt the environment. The series aim to shows resilience and self-made comfort zone under a forced consistency.

Initial Ideas:
I was deeply attracted by Wayne Thiebaud’s paintings of pastries. The artworks have their own sense of sweetness and delightful mood. I found that such feature can be complement for current situation around the world. On top of this inspiration, I thought that objects of daily life can be part of the project.
